Crockett is reunited with an old friend Stone (Bob Balaban) from the Vietnam War, together they visit "The Sergeant" (G. Gordon Liddy), an ex-military officer-turned-drug smuggler now operating out of Miami. Stone calls Maynard a pig because of his use of assassins and other nefarious methods.

From Miami Vice Season 2 Episode 10 'Back in the World': Crockett flashes to his role during the Saigon evacuation as he and a war correspondent uncover heroin smuggled in body bags. Ten years later in Miami the H resurfaces and so does the reporter looking for the CIA connection.
